Raymond is my husband. He's the most supportive and caring person I've ever had in my life. You can always depend on him for anything, especially if it gives him a chance to be silly and make you laugh or smile.

Born and raised in Burlington, Ontario (outside of Toronto), Raymond's best memories involve going to his family's cottage farther North and just enjoying being in the outdoors and on the lake.

And I can't mention that he loves the outdoors without mentioning that he loves animals. He has plenty of stories about his love of animals and his mother's numerous attempts to limit how many pets he had. Even when he got older, he found a way to work around animals at the African Lion Safari near where he lived when he wasn't in school.

After getting a degree in Geography from Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ontario, Raymond was looking for adventure and decided to eventually follow a friend of his to Taiwan to teach English as a Second Language (ESL). While there, he was recognized two years in a row as the school's "Outstanding Teacher", an award selected from a pool of a couple hundred other teachers.

He would go on to be one of the regular teachers to lead workshops for new teachers on how to lead classroom activities for kids ages 5 to 18. That's how he and I met. He had been teaching English in Taiwan for a few years when I arrived. I attended a couple of his workshops and we both ended up in a bowling league (where I barely broke 100 and he received trophies for his high scores).

He eventually taught a year in South Korea. We got married, had a beautiful baby girl, lived in Canada for a bit, and then made our way stateside where we've been for several years now. We both have had to work some pretty undesirable jobs for a while we got ourselves settled, but we're both happy to be teaching again. He's back to teaching English as a Second Language (mainly to children) and I now teach yoga and meditation.

Together, we're always up for an adventure. Always up for trying something new. And always up for doing things to brighten people's days.
